The Top Door Alarm™ has been designed to alert caregivers of potential acts of self-harm when a foreign object is placed over the top of the door and pressure is applied.  This system is ideal for hospitals, mental health facilities, correctional and juvenile facilities, and anywhere patient safety is a top priority.

System Capacity and Power Supply
Top Door Alarm™ is a custom-manufactured alert system designed to fit any size patient corridor, bathroom or therapy room door and can be installed on new or existing applications. 

  • Customized designed system application provides alarm coverage for up to 95 rooms
  • Includes an uninterrupted power supply ensuring system integrity when facility power may experience brief interruptions

  • System power is connected to the facility emergency power
  • UL listed control panel

Pressure Sensors
The system uses 2 pressure sensors, one mounted on each side of the door.  The sensors are discreet and designed to replicate a seal so as not to draw attention to the unit.
  • Detects 24 ounces of pressure
  • Tamperproof sensors are attached directly to the door
  • Sensors provide alert protection whether the door is opened or closed
  • Failsafe circuit ensures system activation

New Technology - Photoelectric Sensor
Positioned on the door frame within an anti-ligature casing, the photoelectric sensor ensures maximum coverage by detecting the presence of any foreign object interrupting the thru-beam between the transmitter and receiver.

Alarms
Top Door Alarm™ provides multiple alarms to alert your staff of a pending act of self-harm.  Upon detection, audible and visual indicators are activated at the door and remote monitoring station.

  • Strobe light at each hallway door site

  • Hallway siren

  • Visual and audible room indicator panel located in the nurse’s station

  • Alarms remain activated even if the force generating the alarm is removed

Key Deactivation Switch
The system is designed so that alarm deactivation occurs manually at the point of incident.
  • Positioned in the wall beside the door jamb
  • Cylinder is keyed by choice of customer
  • System deactivation and reactivation occurs simultaneously
Continuous Electrified Hinge
The system includes replacement of existing door hinges with an anti-ligature geared continuous hinge.
  • Includes serviceable wire transfer hinge
  • Anti-ligature hospital tip
Data Tracking Capability Option
